Dr. Christopher Connolly has been a practicing Chiropractor in Virginia since 1995.
Dr. Connolly is also the father of 4 and, like all parents, was very frustrated with the products on the market (that cost plenty) but delivered nothing when it came to preventing a child's head from drooping down on his or her chest when they fell asleep while sitting up.
Chris became a Chiropractor following an injury that led him to consult a Chiropractor himself. He was amazed at the results he experienced beyond the fact that he was first diagnosed with a bilateral scoliosis, as soon as he become a chiropractic patient, in his late 20's. All the back injuries he suffered prior to this, were treated with pain meds and muscle relaxants with no true diagnosis given in those prior incidences. He felt that he could not be the only one that had gone undiagnosed and untreated, until he saw a Chiropractor.
Dr. Connolly was inspired to develop and design HEAD'S UP due to the knowledge that the damage done to a child's nervous system when their head is drooping one way and the hips shifting the other way to compensate, would have long lasting effects - into adulthood. He developed HEAD'S UP to provide a real solution to the age old problem of a sore neck, upon waking, for the child.
We are proud to say that HEADSUP is made entirely in the USA. The foam is produced, molded and cut in a facility in North Carolina, shipped to the sewing company a few miles away and ultimately shipped in bulk to Hampton Roads Virginia.
We are subcontracting the order fulfillment tasks with VERSABILITY. VERSABILITY, located in Newport News,Va., is a unique organization that provides a safe, nurturing and empowering environment for special needs adults. These adults come to VERSABILITY each day and perform a myriad of tasks, designed to their specific abilities, with the help and guidance of management personnel.
Though we could have had everything made overseas, for a significantly lower price, we opted to invest in our own country.
Providing a great product, with potentially long term health benefits, while creating jobs and helping to strengthen our economy has more value to us than making more profit.
